Annual General Meeting (AGM)

  • Monday, January 18, 2010
  • 7pm
  • TBA.

The VWFL's AGM is held every January and provides the membership with the opportunity to discuss their concerns. We encourage all members of our league to attend AGM's as this ensures the league continues to operate in a manner that best reflects our needs as we grow and the membership's changing interests and expectations. Many important decisions and proposals for constitutional change occur at general meetings. This includes, inter alia, revisiting out-dated or forgotten league practices, establishing new best practices, and electing the league Executive committee.

Ice Breaker Tournament
The VWFL Ice Breaker Tournament is held every year in April to kick off the season. The Tournament is held over a two-day weekend in a round robin fashion, with the Trophy awarded to the most spirited and inspirational team as selected by all teams playing in the Tournament. Follow the links for further information about the Tournament's regulations, schedule and the past year's recipients.

Sue Beishcher Tournament
Every year the VWFL finishes off the season with the Sue B. Tournament. The Tournament is held over a two-day weekend in late July and includes a round robin which is followed by single or double knock-out series, depending on the number of teams.

Sue Beischer played in the PGWSL for 12 years; her last season being in 1993. In 1994, she was taken from us after a valiant fight with ovarian cancer. Sue was devoted to promoting our league and spent many years on the league Executive keeping up interest in the league and encouraging all caliber of players. She wanted it to be fun, fair, and of course, good quality ball. Sue's showed tremendous knowledge and respect for the game and the people around her. And it is her leadership, love for the game, and her respect for others that we continue instill now as values that exemplify our league.

Follow the links for further information about the Tournament's regulations, schedule and past year's recipients.

Getting To Know You Tournament
The Getting-To-Know-You Invitational Tournament is intended to introduce local Midget and Junior ball players to the Victoria Women's Fastball League. This one-day, round-robin tournament is an opportunity for young girls to play against Senior teams and experience our league. Our invitation to participate is open to all Midget and Junior girls that are registered with Softball BC.
We look forward to meeting you!

VWFL Golf Tournament
Any reason we can get to bang a ball around will do, and we love our annual golf tournament! Usually hosted in June, some volunteers from the league will put together a 9-hole tournament which includes door prizes and food. This social event gives everyone the opportunity to wash their ball jersey's, brush their hair and get to know one another a little more. Click here for more information.

Rusty Racket Tennis Tournament
The 2009 tennis tournament has been cancelled. The VWFL membership and its friends will be invited to come play in 2010. No experience is necessary, and is in fact encouraged!
